Merge PDF Files Into One Document (Free, No Signup)

The upload box says "Attach supporting documents" and allows exactly one file. You have five: an ID proof, an address proof, a mark sheet, an experience letter and a photograph. Attaching them one at a time is not an option, and zipping them usually is not accepted either.

Merging is the answer. Several PDFs go in, one PDF comes out, pages in the order you chose.

When merging is the right move

• Single-attachment upload forms — the most common reason by far.
• Application packets where a covering letter, ID and certificates should stay together.
• Scanned documents in batches — pages 1–10 scanned this morning, 11–20 this afternoon.
• Monthly statements or invoices gathered into one file for records.
• Printing — one merged file is one print job instead of five.

How to merge PDF files

1. Open the Merge PDF tool.
2. Select the PDFs you want to join.
3. Merge and download the combined file.

Controlling the order

Pages appear in the order the files are given, which normally follows the file names. The reliable habit is to number the names before you start:

Use a leading zero so 10 does not sort before 2. Then open the merged file and skim the page order before you send it — thirty seconds that prevents an application being rejected as incomplete.

What to do first if your documents are not PDFs yet

• Photos of documents — scan them with the Auto Crop Scanner, which exports straight to a multi-page PDF.
• Plain images — convert with Image to PDF.
• Password-protected PDFs — unlock them first with Remove PDF Password; a locked file cannot be merged.
• Only some pages needed — pull them out with Split PDF, then merge the ones you want.

If the merged file is too big

Merging adds up: five 3 MB files make a 15 MB file, and plenty of portals cap at 2 MB. Run the merged PDF through Compress PDF with the target the form allows.

If it is still too big, the pages themselves are the problem — usually full-colour photographs of text. Re-scanning those pages in B&W Document mode shrinks them enormously while making the text easier to read, not harder.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

Select as many as you need. Very large sets take longer and produce a large file, which you may then want to compress.

Will merging reduce quality?

No. Merging copies the pages across as they are; nothing is re-compressed.

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

Not while it is locked. Remove the password first with Remove PDF Password, then merge.

Can I reorder pages after merging?

The simplest route is to fix the file names and merge again. For finer control, split the file into pages, then merge them back in the order you want.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Free use is subject to a daily limit per tool for visitors who are not signed in; a subscription removes it.
